Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Redefine Meat Ltd. (“Redefine Meat”, “we”) wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use www.redefinemeat.com in every market and language. This statement applies to the whole website.
Conformance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The website partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA: most of it meets the standard, and the parts that do not yet are listed under “Known limitations” below.
What we have done
- Pages are built with semantic HTML — headings, landmarks and lists that assistive technologies can navigate.
- Every page has a “Skip to content” link and can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- The language and reading direction of each page are declared, including right-to-left Hebrew.
- Images have text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text).
- Content reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a width of 320 pixels, equivalent to 400% zoom.
- Animations follow the “reduce motion” setting of your device.
- Form fields have labels.
Accessibility menu
The accessibility button in the bottom corner of every page opens an accessibility menu provided by UserWay. It loads only when you press it, and lets you, among other things:
- enlarge text and change the font, spacing and alignment;
- change contrast and colours, including dark, light and monochrome modes;
- highlight links and enlarge the cursor;
- hide images and pause animations;
- use a reading guide and have text read aloud.
The menu is an extra aid: the website is designed to be accessible without it.
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. It relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript.
Known limitations
- Forms. The contact and sample-request forms are provided by HubSpot and may not be fully accessible. If a form gives you difficulty, contact us by email or phone instead.
- Recipe booklets (PDF). Three recipe booklets — the Christmas 2025 cookbook and two Dutch booklets, the Redefine Flank Steak recipe book and the 2024 summer recipe book — are not yet tagged for screen readers, and their photos have no text descriptions. We are working on accessible versions; until then we are happy to send the recipes in another format.
The forms are provided by a third party and are not fully under our control. The website also links to external websites and documents, such as studies cited in articles; we are not responsible for their accessibility.
